Clydesdale Bank Confirmed as Scotland's Beef Event Sponsor

20th January 2015

Clydesdale Bank has been confirmed as main sponsor of the Scottish Beef Association’s first national beef event which is being held at Mains of Mause, Blairgowrie, Perthshire, courtesy of Peter and Murray Alexander, on Wednesday, May 27, 2015.

Trade interest in exhibiting at the event is proving exceptional following the issue of information and application forms to prospective trade stand holders.

"Mains of Mause is renowned for the production of high quality store cattle from its 1000 cow beef suckler herd and lambs from its flocks of 2000 Blackface and Mule ewes," said Robert McNee, Over Finlarig, Tealing, Dundee.

"It’s going to be a major event for the beef industry in Scotland with a particularly relevant theme of Beef from the Hills which is sure to attract a large attendance of farmers and industry professional at this uncertain time for beef producers as reforms of the Common Agricultural Policy kick in."

Mr McNee said he was particularly pleased to welcome Clydesdale Bank as the main sponsor which was a measure of the bank’s commitment to the Scottish farming industry.

"The commitment we have received from the bank will enable us to put on a highly professional event for the beef industry which should be of real interest to all beef producers and everyone in the industry," said Mr McNee.

Clydesdale Bank head of agribusiness UK, David Hannon, said the bank was delighted to be supporting Scotland’s Beef Event 2015 and an industry which is critical to the Scottish economy.

"We have a close and long established association with farming and agricultural businesses and we recognise that the beef sector, and its reputation for quality produce, is of huge importance to Scotland," he said.

"We work with both producers and processors and this event is the perfect opportunity to come together to discuss future opportunities and challenges."
