Beef Shorthorn Cattle Society
Beef Shorthorn is the sustainable breed. Building on 200 years of breeding excellence, the Shorthorn is primed for a successful future with core traits that are in strong demand. Fertile, easy calving, milky and docile; the Beef Shorthorn is a functional, easy-care breed that minimises labour costs. Great foragers, long lived and hardy; the Beef Shorthorn is a natural improver, delivering positive environmental impact. Richly flavoured, succulent and well marbled; Shorthorn beef delivers a consistently excellent eating experience.
British Blue Cattle Society
The British Blue is a very popular sire used on the dairy herd, providing premium calf prices. The breed is also highly sought after as a terminal sire on the suckler herd and a very high percentage of fatstock and winter fair winners contain British Blue genetics.
British Simmental Cattle Society
British Simmental is a maternal mainstay of the suckler industry, and is officially the UK's number one continental beef breed for age at slaughter.
Galloway Cattle Society of GB & Ireland
One of the oldest and purest of the UK’s native cattle breeds, the Galloway is perfectly adapted to the UK’s climate and natural landscapes. It provides all the traits needed for profitable, sustainable, productive and successful outcomes in this rapidly changing market. Galloways are medium sized, compact and well-fleshed animals, and their hardiness is second to none. They’re an easy-care breed and are famed for their outstanding mothering qualities. Galloways have thick, double coats that protect them from the elements. This means they can be out wintered, saving on expensive feed, buildings and straw. Galloways thrive on rough vegetation, and respond well to feeding or lush grass for finishing. This is an exciting time for the Galloway breed as the Society works with members to grow the commercial market for Galloway Beef across the UK. Customers are increasingly looking for great tasting beef with a positive environmental story, and the Galloway offers them that. The Galloway can be used as a sire over any cow, and Galloway-sired progeny can qualify for premium payments from the market.
Gascon Cattle Society UK
Gascon Cattle Society UK promotes the Gasconne breed in the UK. The Gasconne is a medium sized, hardy, versatile suckler breed which fits in extremely well with current market demands. The cows have a good length, are easy calving, are milky, have a quiet temperament and are economical to feed.
Hereford Cattle Society
The Hereford breed has been gaining popularity in Scotland in recent times, as well as across the UK. The Hereford does it all. Whether that’s as a terminal sire, suckler cow or in the dairy herd, these adaptable cattle can work for you. The Hereford is recognised across the world as an efficient, hardy and productive animal, which produces superior beef.
Irish Moiled Cattle Society
Irish Moiled Cattle are an Irish and UK native rare breed, indigenous to the Island of Ireland. Uniquely marked and polled.
Lincoln Red Cattle Society
Lincoln Reds are polled; docile; hardy; calve easily; excellent suckler cows with ample milk; finish extensively or intensively.
Luing Cattle Society
The Luing is a native beef breed that is an extremely hardy, fertile dam, which produces a growthy, fleshy calf.
Salers Cattle Society
Salers (pronounced Sa'lairs) originated from the Southern half of the Massif Central in the Auvergne region of South-Central France. They are known as the Ultimate Suckler Breed and renowned for their 'MATERNAL MAGIC' with exceptional calving ease, large pelvic area, milking ability and fertility. They produce high percentage calf crops, resulting from the inherent fertility, quick rebreeding and high conception rates. More live calves per cow means more profit and it all begins with a trouble-free birth. Further maternal advantage is realised through the Salers ability to wean a heavy calf and take care of it herself. The Salers influence contributes a large pelvic area to cross bred replacement females and will allow commercial suckler farmers to utilise heavily muscled terminal sires in a crossbreeding programme with less concern about calving difficulties.
South Devon Herd Book Society
South Devons - the forward-thinking native breed for excellent maternal traits combined with powerful beef qualities, where quality comes naturally.
Stabiliser Cattle Company
The Stabiliser Cattle Company was established with one goal in mind; to provide UK suckler beef producers with the most efficient and profitable animals available in the marketplace, without compromising on quality.
